McFLY – Room On The 3rd Floor (Live)
Posted by radiant heat in In Floor Radiant Heat on August 27th, 2010
Danny,Tom,Dougie, and Harry Room on the third floor, Not what we asked for. I’m not tired enough to sleep. One bed is broken, Next room is smokin’, Air conditioning’s stuck on heat. And outside it’s rainin’, Hear the guest upstairs complainin’ ‘Bout the room that’s got their TV too loud. Cos the times like these remind me That I’ve got to keep my feet on the ground. Wake up early, Round seven thirty, House keeping knockin’ on my door. Do not disturb sign, The back of her mind. I must have left it on the floor. (yeah) My eyes are hurting, Cos the cheap nylon curtains. Let’s the sunlight creep in through from the clouds. Cos the times like these remind me That I’ve got to keep my feet on the ground. Na na na na Na na na naaah Na na na na Na na na naaah I gues the times like these remind me, I gues the times like these remind me, I guess the times like these remind me, That I’ve got to keep my feet on the ground. Na na na na Na na na naaah Na na na na Na na na naaah No No! I guess the times like these remind me (the times like these remind me) I guess the times like these remind me (the times like these remind me) I guess the times like these remind me, That I’ve got to keep my feet on the ground

ZED Floor Plan, Passive Solar Thermal Buffer Zone
Posted by radiant heat in In Floor Radiant Heat on July 8th, 2010
Zero Energy Design® coined the term “Thermal Buffer Zone” in the materials about our first ZED home in 1979. It is the extremely efficient concept that two small temperature differentials result in lower undesirable heat transfer than one large exterior envelope temperature differential. Since 1979, “TBZ” has appeared in popular architecture literature many times, but most Architects(R) still do not understand how to use it cost effectively in a zero energy building. This narrated video shows a beautiful, open, efficient, abundant-daylight floor plan, and how our refined Double Shell Thermal Buffer Zone transfers solar gain from the sunny side of the home, to the cold side of a Zero Energy Design building with NO electricity. We also describe summer Energy Recovery Ventilation solar cooling, and how we hide all solar panels and satelite dishes from view on all sides. Retrofit radiant floor panel installation.mp4
Posted by radiant heat in Radiant Floor on June 18th, 2010
Simple installation of inexpensive retrofit panels for radiant floor application on existing concrete slab floor. Panels can be easily cut to fit using a knife “score and snap” and glued down to the concrete. Panels are universal and can be used for straights or 90deg (slice aluminum over pre-routered 90 for loops).
